HUSH Baby's Most Frequently Asked Questions

Does wearing the HUSH Hat while sleeping increase the risk of SIDS?

No, it does not. According to the MAYO Clinic, SIDS may be associated with abnormalities in the portion of the infants brain that control breathing and arousal from sleep.

How do I choose the correct size?

We have a measurement chart located on the shopping page of our website. It is important you consult this chart before choosing a size. The HUSH Hat is intended to fit snug in order to do its job correctly and for the safety of your baby. The HUSH Hat is not a product you would buy with “room to grow”. Putting a hat on your baby, HUSH Hat or otherwise, that is much too big could cover their face.

What if I order the wrong size?

We have a 14 day exchange/return policy. Submit a message in the Contact Us section of our website and we will be happy to assist you with your exchange.

Should my baby sleep all night in the HUSH Hat?

The HUSH Hat is not intended for all night use. The HUSH Hat is great for nap-time use at home, running errands, restaurants, sporting events, anywhere the noise level could startle your infant awake. Unexpected noises and loud environments aren’t usually a problem during nighttime sleep.

Can my baby form a dependency on the HUSH Hat?

They shouldn’t. The HUSH Hat is NOT sound proof. Babies can still hear the world around them, but softens the sounds they are experiencing. The HUSH Hat helps babies adjust to this noisy world we live in.

What is the foam made of? Is it safe to come into contact with babies skin?

Yes! It’s absolutely safe. The foam is a Confor Visco Elastic energy absorbing foam, it is fire resistant up to 400′ degrees. It’s made in a green energy facility, (in the USA) it is medical grade and free from lead content or harmful chemicals. This foam is used in medical devices and other sound absorbing applications. It feels very similar to memory foam. We have a lot of customers comment on how soft and comfortable it feels.
